Words to Cheerleading Cheers and Chants – Free Download Cheer Notes

Here’s part of my cheerleading cheers and chants notes from waaaaaay back. These are cheers and chants that we used when I coached a Junior High squad (I was on my Varsity high school squad at the time). The phone number is disconnected, so don’t try it ;) Other than that, if you can see past my obsession with colored markers, I hope you’ll get some good use out of these words for cheerleading cheers. Choreograph your own moves and upload them at Sideline Star! Nothing would make me happier :)

Download and print my notes here

Also, I put together some more of the best cheerleading cheers – the notes can be downloaded and printed. You can learn the motions to these sideline cheers at sidelinestar.com.

Enjoy!

SidelineStar.com Cheerleading Video Lessons From The Pros

Another great resource to add to my list of things I wish they had when I was starting out – now cheerleaders and coaches have access to new sideline cheers and chants 24/7! sidelinestar.com cheerleading videos logo

Sidelinestar.com is not only the #1 cheer video website, it’s also a gateway to connect with pro cheerleaders from the NFL and NBA for personal tips and advice!

There are videos for cheerleading stunts, floor cheers, sideline chants, halftime routines, competition routines and more. The most helpful section, in my opinion, is the Lesson Videos, where the instructors give you a step by step tutorial for each routine.

The best news – it’s all free to access. I created the site because I love learning, teaching and choreographing new cheerleading routines. I hope you’ll find something to cheer about too! Join Sidelinestar.com today and see for yourself~

Getting Started: Things I wish I had around when I was beginning

I’ve recently had an interest in youth programs that teach cheerleading fundamentals. For cheerleaders just starting out, this is a great organization to join in order to learn the cheer basics and get some experience before trying out for school teams. I’ve known for a long time about popular youth leagues with structured cheer organizations, such as Pop Warner Youth Football. They have their own cheerleading nationals for peewee divisions, and a superbowl for the football teams!

I also recently discovered after-school programs that have Cheer & Dance classes. Here in Arizona, Young Champions of America provide cheer, hip hop and karate lessons. They even have beginning tumbling and stunting from certified coaches. Another low-cost training option that I’m less familiar with, but also based here in Arizona is the NRG Dance Co. programs. They also do after-school programming in elementary schools around the Phoenix Valley.

Plenty of options to get your little miss cheerleader ready for the Pros someday! (more than this Pro ever had, so they’ll be in fantastic shape!)

Going on Tour!

One of the great opportunities that is afforded to me as a Cardinals Cheerleader is the opportunity to perform as part of the show team for our upcoming tour of the Pacific Rim! We’re headed out on a 20 day tour of South Korea, Japan, Guam and Hawaii! We’ll be doing a 2 hour performance nearly every day that we’re not traveling, and I’m very much looking forward to entertaining and meeting our military men and women overseas. Our tour schedule has us in Hawaii for the Pro Bowl, so we can support our team-mate Kathy, too! What timing!

We rehearsed 4 hours last night and dress rehearsals are scheduled to start next week. With 8 costume changes and 10 dance numbers, I’m definitely getting my workout but it’s all going to fly by so quickly, that I’m trying to soak it all in as part of the whole rewarding experience. A great way to cap off the season!

This Pocket Protector Packs a Punch!

I went to the first Club e network meeting of 2008 last night, held at PurVine in Tempe, AZ. I met Dana there, one of the many aspiring entrepreneurs in attendance and certainly one getting a lot of press for her “Taser Parties” hosted by her company, Shieldher. The Taser Parties are the new Tupperware party, teaching participants personal safety tips (taught by Angels with Attitude Founder, Danny Kessler) and how to use a personal Taser device. For those who are not familiar with this type of sales distribution method, the host of the party gets all her lady friends together to visit, snack, and learn about personal safety in an effort to raise awareness about the availability of personal Taser units, and hopefully sell a few.

They retail for about $350 each, plus shipping, so it’s an ideal way to see how it works first hand before purchasing, and even test your aim by shooting the Taser at a corkboard target.

Smart – and Safe. Even if you’re not doing public appearances as a cheerleader, this is one device every woman should carry.

Cheers!*\O/*

Whiter teeth and a tan in under 10 minutes!

Ok, so it’s no secret that Pro Cheerleaders have to maintain a healthy looking tan to look fab in uniform. With my skin naturally on the pale end of the spectrum , it’s something I have to work at constantly. Fortunately, I found a couple of tricks along the way. My latest great time saver discovery are these UV teeth whitener kits! Scrub just a smidge on your teeth before tanning indoors, and if you can stand the cheek-stretcher for 8 minutes, you’ll come out with whiter teeth (and yes, a little bit of drool…so don’t bend over right away, take it from me!)

The packs are about $30, and only around $12 for refills on the gel.  Get them here.

I’m not advocating going overboard with indoor tanning, as you do accept some health risks in using UV tanning. I choose to limit my indoor tanning by using a mixture of both tanning beds and sunless tanning solutions. Here are some of my tricks for a quick sunless tan:

  • L’Oreal Sublime Bronze sunless tan towelettes  – a good glow develops in a few hours, and just a slight twinge of that weird tanning lotion smell. It’s a good quick fix if you have a last minute appearance.
  • Victoria’s Secret Body Bronzer – They discontinued my favorite, ulta-dark lotion, but the existing lines not only smell nice with the garden fragrances, but also do the quick fix trick. The shimmer gives a great look on stage under the lights, but beware, the lotion can get on your outfit and certainly on your undergarments, so don’t wear your Sunday best.
  • Spray Tan (I prefer the Mystic Tan brand) – This is every Pro Cheerleader’s reliable stand-by for an instant tan. I’ve had mine last for an average of 5 days, with it completely scrubbed off by day 7. The only downside is that you have to let the spray soak-in to your skin for 4 hours (so wear loose clothes) and I usually have that mystic-smell for a good 24 hours, even after I shower. My husband no-likey, but those are the sacrifices we make for game-day!
  • Benefit Hoola Bronzer – For my face, I can always get a shade darker by applying the Hoola Bronzer on top of my regular make-up powder application. Applied strategically under the cheekbones, along the jaw line, and near your temples, it can accentuate your facial features from farther away, so it’s always part of my game-day bronzing regime. It’s a great shade that nearly everyone can wear.

N-squared was taken

Hello and welcome to my world of Professional Cheerleading. Aside from being an NFL cheerleader, I’m also a wife, sister, friend, entrepreneur, marketer, writer, athlete, and enthusiast of all things web 2.0. With that in mind, I thought I’d share with the world some of my favorite things, and give a little insight into this Pro Cheerleader’s make-up kit, closet, nightstand reading, fitness rituals, inspirational mentors, and bookmarks on the web. I hope you’ll find something of interest to you or to a cheerleader in your life and pass it on. *\O/* Cheers.
